Dr Isa Yakub Ajeigbe, a Kwara State University lecturer, who died in his sleep on Monday, April 24, 2023, is among the newly promoted Professors and Associate Professors by the University.
AWA CONTENT reports that Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Shaykh-Lukman Jimoh, had, during the Fidau for the deceased, at his Budo-Egba hometown, on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, told the gathering that the late lecturer had satisfied all conditions for his promotion to the professorial cadre except for the ratification by the Governing Council.
However, he did not live to witness the ratification and realisation of his dream.
A statement signed and made available today by Acting Director, University Relations, Dr. Saeedat Aliyu,
listed the late Ajeigbe of the Department of Human Kinetics, among eight scholars elevated to the professorial cadre.

“The Governing Council of Kwara State University, Malete has approved the promotion of eight of its staff to the professorial cadre.
” The ratification was given at the 65th Regular Meeting of the Governing Council of the University which was held on the 16th and 17th of May 2023.
” Two among the staff attained full professorship and the other six were promoted to Associate Professorship.
” The newly promoted Professors are:
“Professor Imoloame O. Emmanuel with specialisation in Weed Science; and, Professor Ngozi Bibiana Nwabufo, with specialisation in Commerce and Cooperative Studies.
” The Associate Professors are: Dr. Saeedat Bolajoko Aliyu with specialisation in African Literature; Dr. Reuben Kehinde Akano specialist in African Literature; and, Dr. Olayinka Jelili Yusuf with specialisation in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.
“The others are Dr. Adeniyi Ganiyu Adeogun, specialist in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering Structures; Dr. Samson Olalekan Odeyemi, specialist in Structural Engineering; and the late Dr. Isa Yakub Ajeigbe who specialised in Human Kinetics.
” It will be recalled that Dr. Ajeigbe passed away in his sleep on April 24, 2023″, the statement added.
