Soldiers enforce movement restrictions in Ilorin Metropolis

Must read

Armed soldiers are currently manning main road junctions in Ilorin Metropolis, to enforce movement restrictions in the ongoing Governorship and State Assembly elections in Kwara State.

AWA CONTENT reports that military personnel were deployed in different parts of the state capital, including Sobi, Kankatu, and Gambari junctions, among others, to enforce the restrictions order.

Despite showing his INEC-issued personalised tag and Election Duty sticker on his vehicle, it took several minutes for our reporter to be allowed access to Kankatu Road, where the Kwara Central Senator-elect, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, will cast his ballot.

Generally, voting exercise is going on smoothly in different parts of the metropolis, as both INEC officials and election materials arrived much earlier than the previous presidential and national assembly elections.
