As toddlers, more care has to be taken because at this stage, the child begins the crawling and teething process, Spending quality time with children at this time is paramount because this kid will always want to be everywhere and touch everything. A major reason why parents have to be cautious and careful. There have been cases where some toddlers sustain severe injuries and death as a result of just few moments of being left alone to themselves or with nannies. Things that can cause injuries for them have to be taken off, and several limits and boundaries have to be make. At the walking stage, they are eager to leave a spot and walk around their environment, and sometimes run even when they shouldn’t. More care has to be taken to avoid falls and severe injuries. Parents need to serve as watchdogs at this stage to help them avoid everything that can cause injury. At this stage the talking process begins and they learn how to pronounce and identify people/things in their environment. Parents need to teach and correct them with love so as to help their cognitive function well.
As they grow from infants to toddlers – kids – teenagers – adults, parenting never ends. There is the need to instill in them certain disciplines and core values peculiar to the society. There is need to help them build their self esteem and confidence. There is need to teach them to be self deciding and independent. There is need to help them with school work. There is need to help them take certain life decisions. There is need to create certain memories with them all the way as parenting is a life long duty.
As much as the parenting duty can be overwhelming and tasking, sometimes there is need to desire an helping hand from spouses or nanny but remember that no one can be a better parent to your child(ren) than you hence the need to strive to be a better one and watch out for your little one.
